Marriage Celebrants PDF Print E-mail

Keep in mind that each priest has a different presence, style and approach.

Once you have decided on a date, the next important decision to make is which pundit ji to choose. As their contribution will be a significant one, choose someone you like and feel relaxed with, and who you feel will have an approach that will suit your style of wedding. Family and friends can help you in this area with referrals. Once you've made your choice decide how you want your ceremony to be. Remember the priest may be able to help, he has seen many weddings and will have an idea of what will fit with your style of wedding. If your guest list includes non Hindu speakers you may want your ceremony in English as well, so confirm that your chosen priest is comfortable with this.

  • If you intend to sign the marriage certificate on the wedding day, decide with your celebrant who should have the marriage certificate and when it should be signed.
  • Get a list of pooja items for the wedding.
  • Confirm as to who will provide puja items on the wedding day.
  • Check to see if your pundit requires a cordless microphone. Also run a sound check for volume and sound quality before the ceremony.
