Indian music can provide a special ambience to an Indian Wedding. Live shenai creates a traditional feel and shapes the ceremony into its different stages. Plan well in advance and listen to a sample to make sure the music is exactly what you want to hear on your wedding day. For the reception there is nothing better than a live band or a mobile DJ. Go through song lists to make sure that special song is there for your wedding dance. You could try a combination of instrumental music during the service and then have a DJ for the rest of the celebrations. If you have a DJ or a band provide them with an idea of the music you like, or a list of songs, most will be happy to accommodate your requests. - Where are they going to be positioned in the function room?
- What size stage will the band require?
- Your DJ/ band should arrive at the venue in good time to set up and have a thorough sound check prior to the guests arriving.
- If your venue does not provide microphones it may be a good idea to make arrangements to use your DJ's microphone.
- If you are having Log Geet and DJ decide on which music you would like played, when, and if possible make a list for them.
- If you have a dance, the classic order for the dancing to begin is with the bride and groom, then the bride and her father, then the groom and his mother-in-law. After this the bride dances with her father-in-law and groom with his mother. If this is not what you want then anyone can start.
- Try putting dance lovers near the dance floor - they’ll get the party rocking
